Meeting– Meeting: May 13, 2019 Cornerstone Bible Fellowship 3725 E. 9th Ave  Winfield, KS  1:00 pm & 6:30 pm.

Gretchen Gropper and Deb Neal, Walnut Valley Guild Members, will be our speakers for May. Gretchen has done hand work for as long as she can remember.  Deb enjoys quilting with wool and cotton. They will share their lifelong love of sewing and experiences along with numerous talents they both possess.  While they both gravitate toward primitive designs and colors, Gretchen prefers bright colors and a modern aesthetic.  Deb finds that working with wool and cotton to be relaxing.
These ladies will share techniques and inspiration with emphases on working with wool.  This program promises to be informative and entertaining.

Dinner with the speakers will be at College Hill Coffee on May 13th at 5:00pm.  The board will meet at Trinity Lutheran Church on May 20th at 5:30pm.  This is a combined old and new board meeting with the current members making supper for the new members.

Sewing for Comfort Quilts/Pillow Cases will not meet this month. Please continue to work on proje

cts on your own.

The current newsletter can be downloaded on Newsletter page.

The purpose of the guild is to stimulate an interest in quilts, to promote and advance the art of quiltmaking, and to conduct educational programs and services in the design and techniques of quiltmaking.

The Bylaws and Standing Rules that govern the guild can be downloaded at bottom of page.

WVQG meets the second Monday of each month at 1:00 p.m. and again at 6:30 p.m.  Having two meetings enables most members to attend regardless of work and family schedules.  Meetings are scheduled alternately between Winfield, KS  and Arkansas City, KS since our members come from a wide area. The meeting schedule is available by clicking on "meeting schedule" on the left side of this page.

To join the Walnut Valley Quilters' Guild download the membership form, fill out and return with dues of $25 to the postal address show below. Anyone interested in the art of quilting is invited to join our guild.
