Program on ELIZABETH VAUGHAN—COLORS

Elizabeth Vaughan, an early member of the Walnut Valley Quilters Guild, will present the program for the November 11, 2019 monthly meeting at 5:30 pm to be held at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship, Winfield. At the age of 5, Elizabeth’s grandmother started her piecing pot holders on a treadle sewing machine and has never stopped quilting.  Her college degree included painting, color study and print making; each contributes to her quilting skills. “Blocks of Color” will help quilters with a focus fabric determine what colors to include and enhance their project.  Elizabeth will analyze and suggest colors to go with approximately 10 members focus piece during her presentation and will visit with others after the meeting.  Quilters bring that “had to have” piece of fabric and let Elizabeth show us some exciting ideas for your next project.

SAVE THE DATE! – March 7, 2020 will be our Tea and Mini Quilt Auction.

Each member is asked to make, for donation, a mini quilt, table topper, runner, or other wellmade fiber crafted item for our silent auction. You will also be asked to sell tickets for the event.

You will enjoy a wonderful tea party with fellow quilters or bring several friends and relatives to enjoy too! They will be so excited to make bids to purchase your handmade item!

Your mini quilt should measure no larger than 36" x 36" OR 1,296 square inches (L x W = sq.in.). Example: a table runner 15" x 42" = 630 sq.in.

Sewing for Comfort Quilts/Pillow Cases will not meet this month. Please continue to work on proje

cts on your own.
